Hovea purpurea

An erect understorey shrub with elongate leaves closely spaced on erect stems. Flowers are in small clusters in the leaf axils on short stems. Hovea longifolia is a similar species.

Flowering: spring.

Habitat: Dry open forest on sandy soils.

Distribution: in Sydney widespread from coast to mountains. In NSW also north and south coast, southern tablelands and central western slopes. Extending from north Queensland to Victoria.
