Acacia saligna - Golden Wreath Wattle
A small fast-growing tree with long, soft green leaves, the branches with a droopy habit. The flower heads are most conspicuous, bright yellow, and arranged at intervals on a long stem.
Habitat: in clusters along roadsides (Mona Vale Road) and other disturbed areas. Although native to Australia and very pretty, this plant is a weed to the Sydney region.
Distribution: Native to southern Western Australia, widely distributed in suburban Sydney
