Family Mimosacaea

Acacia brownei

A small shrub with wiry branches rather sparsely covered with thin spiky leaves. The flower heads are borne single from the leaf axils and are bright yellow

Flowering: late winter and spring.

Habitat: In forest on sandy soils. Not very common.

Distribution: NSW coast ranges and western slopes, Victoria and Queensland.
